Palladia (toceranib phosphate) is an oral multi-kinase inhibitor antineoplastic agent (receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor) indicated for the treatment of Patnaik higher-grade (Grade II or III) recurrent or non-resectable cutaneous mast cell tumors with or without regional lymph node involvement in dogs.

Indications

  • Treatment of recurrent or non-resectable Grade II or Grade III cutaneous mast cell tumors in dogs with or without regional lymph node involvement.

Contraindications

  • Do not use in dogs less than 24 months of age or weighing less than 5 kg.

  • Do not use in pregnant, lactating, or breeding dogs.

Precautions

  • Toceranib can cause vascular and gastrointestinal toxicity, including GI perforation, pancreatitis, and proteinuria.

  • Routine hematology, serum biochemistry, and urinalysis (urine protein:creatinine ratio) are required before and during treatment.

  • Gloves must be worn when administering tablets or handling feces/urine of treated dogs.

Side Effects

  • Diarrhea, anorexia, vomiting, lethargy, weight loss, neutropenia, cutaneous depigmentation, and lameness/muscle cramping.
