Dosages

Horse

  • 3 mg pyrantel base per lb of body weight (6.6 mg/kg), equivalent to 6 mL Strongid T per 100 lb body weight (Oral (by stomach tube, dose syringe, or mixed with clean feed ration)) — Single dose; repeat deworming at regular intervals (every 6 to 8 weeks) as indicated by fecal egg counts

Indications
  • Removal and control of mature infections of large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, and large roundworms in horses and ponies.
Contraindications
  • Not for use in horses intended for food or human consumption.
Precautions
  • Shake well before measuring dose. Safe for use in pregnant mares, foals, and breeding stallions.
Side Effects
  • High margin of safety; side effects are extremely rare when administered at recommended dosages.
