Vanguard L4 is an inactivated liquid bacterin containing whole cell cultures of Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona. Indicated for the vaccination of healthy dogs 6 weeks of age or older as an aid in preventing leptospirosis, mortality, and urinary shedding caused by the four prevalent Leptospira serovars.

Indications

  • Prevention of leptospirosis, clinical disease, mortality, and persistent urinary shedding in dogs caused by Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona.

Contraindications

  • Do not vaccinate clinically ill dogs.

Precautions

  • Anaphylactoid reactions can occur; administer epinephrine immediately if required.

Side Effects

  • Transient local soreness, mild bump at the injection site, or slight lethargy.
