ProHeart 6 (moxidectin) is a sustained-release injectable suspension containing moxidectin microspheres for dogs 6 months of age and older. Reconstituted with a specialized vehicle, a single subcutaneous injection provides 6 continuous months of heartworm disease prevention (Dirofilaria immitis) and treatment of existing larval and adult hookworm infections (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala).

Indications

Prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis for 6 full months in dogs 6 months of age and older.

Treatment of existing larval and adult hookworm infections caused by Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala.
Contraindications

Do not administer intravenously or intramuscularly.

Do not use in dogs less than 6 months of age.

Do not use in sick, debilitated, underweight dogs or dogs with a history of weight loss.
Precautions

Dogs must be tested for existing heartworm infections prior to administration. Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing allergic conditions.
Side Effects

Lethargy, anorexia, fever, vomiting, injection site swelling or granuloma, transient facial edema or urticaria.
