Indications

Prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis for 12 months in dogs 12 months of age and older.

Treatment of existing larval and adult hookworm infections (Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala) at the time of administration.
Contraindications

Do not administer to sick, debilitated, underweight, or heartworm-positive dogs.

Do not use in dogs under 12 months of age.

Do not administer intravenously or intramuscularly.
Precautions

Prior to administration, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infections.

Veterinarians must complete certification training prior to prescribing and administering ProHeart 12.

Caution in dogs with history of allergic reactions, vaccine reactions, or immune-mediated diseases.
Side Effects
-
Anaphylaxis/hypersensitivity reactions (facial swelling, pruritus, urticaria), vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and localized swelling or granuloma at the injection site.
