Storage Conditions Store refrigerated at 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F). Once broached, use within 28 days.
Dosages

Dog

  • 4.4 mg carprofen/kg (2 mg/lb) body weight once daily, or divided as 2.2 mg/kg twice daily (1 mL per 11.4 kg / 25 lbs BW) (Subcutaneous (SC) injection) — Single injection for surgical analgesia administered approximately 2 hours pre-op; oral Rimadyl may continue post-operatively
Withdrawal Periods —
Indications
  • Relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs.
  • Control of postoperative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries in dogs.
Contraindications
  • Do not use in dogs with bleeding disorders (e.g., Von Willebrand disease).
  • Do not use concurrently with other NSAIDs or systemic corticosteroids.
  • Not for use in cats.
Precautions
  • All dogs should undergo baseline physical examination, liver and kidney bloodwork prior to NSAID administration.
Side Effects
  • Vomiting, inappetence, diarrhea, melena, elevated hepatic enzymes, and renal impairment.
