Do not use in dogs or cats with known hypersensitivity to alfaxalone or any of the preservatives.
Do not use in animals where general anesthesia is contraindicated.
Rapid administration may cause transient apnea, hypoventilation, or hypotension; administer slowly over 60 seconds.
Ensure endotracheal intubation equipment and oxygen supplementation are readily available.
Premedication significantly reduces the dose of alfaxalone required.
Dose-dependent respiratory depression, transient apnea, mild hypotension, hypothermia, and paddling or vocalization during emergence if unpremedicated.
