Albon (sulfadimethoxine) 5% Oral Suspension is a custard-flavored oral suspension containing 50 mg of sulfadimethoxine per mL (5% w/v). Indicated for the treatment of respiratory, genitourinary tract, enteric (coccidiosis, bacterial enteritis), and soft tissue infections in dogs and cats caused by susceptible organisms.

Indications

Treatment of respiratory infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia) in dogs and cats.

Treatment of enteric infections including coccidiosis (Isospora canis, Isospora felis, Isospora rivolta) and bacterial enteritis.

Treatment of genitourinary infections (cystitis, nephritis, metritis) and soft tissue abscesses, pustular dermatitis.
Contraindications

Do not use in dogs or cats with a history of sulfonamide hypersensitivity.

Do not use in animals with severe liver disease or marked renal impairment.
Precautions

Ensure adequate water intake at all times during treatment to avoid crystalluria.
Side Effects

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye) in dogs, hemolytic anemia, hypersensitivity urticaria.
