Analgin

Reduction of visceral pain, particularly pain associated with spasms, in cattle, horses, pigs and dogs.

Do not use in animals with haematopoietic lesions, gastrointestinal ulceration or chronic gastrointestinal disorders, renal insufficiency or asthma. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients. Do not administer to cats.

Do not administer subcutaneously because tissue irritation may occur. Intravenous administration should be slow. In competition horses, observe applicable anti-doping regulations because metamizole may produce a positive doping-control result. Repeated injections may lead to accumulation of long-acting metabolites and require dose adjustment.

Very rare cardiovascular shock, intestinal haemorrhage, renal insufficiency and injection-site irritation. Species-specific reports include splenomegaly in dogs and hypersalivation or lethargy in cats; cats are not a target species for the cited metamizole-only product.
